4/9/17/2016  First NASCAR Whelen Series Win:  Starting from the pole Michael held off the charge of the field to notch his first win in the Dominion Stock class at Dominion Raceway.  The race was marred by several restarts but Michael was able to keep the #1 Gutterman Service.com Monte Carlo out in front for the entire race.  Thanks go out to the great team of crew and sponsors who helped put Michael oil victory lane.

10/19/2016 First Associate Sponsor for 2017: M3 is proud to announce a sponsorship relationship with Anchor Healthcare Services (AHS).  Michael looks forward to representing Ms. Valeri Cummings and her fine staff in the 2017 NASCAR Whelen Dominion Stock Series at Dominion Raceway in Thornburg, VA.

3/4/2017 2016 Dominon Raceway Rookie of the Year:  Michael was selected as the 2016 Rookie of the year at Dominion Raceway out of all the rookies in all divisions.  Michael was honored for his outstanding driving skills and his work in the motorsports arena both on and off the track.

4/8/2017  OPENING NIGHT ENDS IN DISAPPOINTMENT:  Michael started off the night the way he finished last season with the fastest car and the best time to win the pole position. After the redraw he started the race in the fourth position, but that didn't last long.  Michael systematically passed the cars in front of him to take the lead on lap 18.  Michael was pulling away from the field when things went bad.  Coming down the front stretch Michael felt something go in the right front and left off the gas.  Coming out of 2 the right front wheel collapsed under the car and Michael did everything he could to stay off the wall.  He expertly brought the car to the bottom of the track and into the pits without endangering the rest of the field.  Once back in the pits the crew determined that the right front brake rotor broke and the wheel folded under the car.  A bad finish to a great start, but on the positive side, Michael did an awesome job brining the car in with minimal damage.  Oh well, there's always next time.

5/6/17  Michael Drives the #1 Gutterman Dominion Stock to a Great Second Place Finish:  Rain washed out qualifying and the field was set by points which meant that since Michael had problems in the first race he started in the back. After a long wait in the pits due to rain delay the race started and Michael worked his way from the back of the field to a hard fought second place finish.   The cold wet track made the race very exciting and made passing was difficult.  After a late race caution, Michael was on the outside front row for the restart.  Michael fought hard to pass the leader and could have moved him to win, but that's not the way Michael races.  In the end a strong second place finish and the car in the trailer with minimal work to be done made this a very successful day.

5/20/17 Michael Rises to the Challenge of Twin 20-Laps Races:  The night started on a great note with Michael taking the Pole again with a quick 18.0 second lap.  He pulled a 3 on the invert draw and started third.  It took Michael a few laps to track down the leader, but he took the lead with eight laps to go and looked like he was cruising to victory when the caution came out with three last remaining.  Michael remained calm and got a great restart and cleared the field to take the win. His first win of the season.  In the second race, the field was inverted by NASCAR Rules and Michael found him self starting last.  After fighting his way through the pack Michael found himself in second with 5 laps to go.  Michael had the faster car, and although he was gaining on the leader he just didn't have enough time to catch him and finished a very respectable second.  All things considered it was another great night of short track racing.
